Lespwa means HOPE

We are a group of local teachers who have been making annual trips to Haiti since 2005. Our focus is to support Haitian principals and teachers with intensive educational training. Our TLC (Teaching and Learning with Compassion) educators understand that learning empowers people to hope, believe and succeed. With compassion undergirding our efforts; our skills, knowledge and expertise has already had far reaching results. Rather than doctors without borders ~ we're teachers without chalkboards.

July 2010 trip to Haiti

This year Haitian teachers are asking us to give them tools for working with post-traumatic stress in their students; all who have been impacted by the January 12th earthquake. They are looking forward to our return along with the curriculum, resources, management techniques, support and hearts of compassion that we give freely to them. They appreciate our input and have communicated that our presence is vital to rebuilding the future of the Haitian children entrusted to them.
